Contours of Perception
Contours of Perception explores the tension between seeing and understanding. The stylised profile, fragmented yet cohesive, suggests a figure shaped as much by inner thought as by outward appearance. Bold, angular lines carve the face into shifting planes, evoking the idea that perception is never singular but layered and subjective.
The warm, earthen tones anchor the work in the human, while the stark contrasts and textured surface introduce a sense of distance and abstraction. This interplay invites the viewer to consider how identity is filtered through experience, memory, and bias—how what we perceive is often a constructed interpretation rather than an absolute truth.
